A month has passed since I started working for Customer First Digital. Embarking on a new career path as a digital marketer has been an exhilarating journey filled with both challenges and triumphs. As I reflect on my first month in this dynamic field, I'm excited to share the insights and experiences that have shaped my perspective. As well as learning about all the analytics reports I have learnt how to navigate all the software that is used. Every member of the team has been fantastic and have helped me enormously. 

What work I have done? 

My first month in digital marketing has been exciting and challenging. My initial focus was on familiarising myself with the company's services, understanding their target audience, reviewing existing marketing strategies, and getting acquainted with digital marketing tools and platforms such as Google Analytics, social media management tools, and email marketing platforms. 
 
I have been introduced to many data platforms which has assisted with several avenues of research for different partners and brands. I have also carried out research on global digital marketing trends. 
 
I have researched and navigated the Rakuten Advertising Affiliate Marketing platform and I passed my Rakuten Advertising Agency Account Manager Course at the start of my second week. I have also learnt how to upload offers from Rakuten to Skimlinks for our partners. 

What have I learnt in my first month ... 

One of the most valuable lessons I've learned is the importance of data-driven decision making. Analysing metrics and tracking key performance indicators. 
 
Transitioning into digital marketing has required a steep learning curve, but every challenge has been an opportunity for growth. From mastering new tools and platforms to understanding the intricacies of the digital marketing world, each day has brought valuable lessons and skill development. 
 
I conducted various website customer experience tasks, enabling me to gain familiarity with all the brands we collaborate with. Based on these tasks, I delivered actionable insights and recommendations to enhance the brands' performance. 
 
By shadowing the Brand Partnership process, I've developed the skills to discern and engage with suitable new partners effectively. 

My expectations ... 

Navigating the vast digital landscape has been both exciting and overwhelming. I feel like I have learnt a lot in my first month, but I envisage there is a great deal more to learn. As I expected I have received training on tools, platforms, and processes, as well as updates on industry trends and best practices in digital marketing. I have worked closely with team members on understanding how to analyse data from various digital marketing channels (e.g. social media, email, website) to measure the performance of campaigns and make data-driven decisions. 

Going forward ... 

As I look back on my first month I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities and experiences that have shaped my journey. From embracing the learning curve to celebrating milestones, every moment has been a stepping stone towards success in this ever-evolving field. I'm excited to continue growing, learning, and making a meaningful impact in the world of digital marketing. 
 
I hope to take the lead and develop on the Brand Partnership role and become the main point of contact, fostering trust, communication, and collaboration to ensure successful partnerships to build mutually beneficial relationships and successful brand partnerships. I am looking forward to collaborating with partner brands to create, execute, drive engagement and achieve shared goals. 
 
I am excited to get started working on collaborating marketing campaigns with partners to pool resources, creativity, and expertise to create compelling and impactful content. Whether it's co-branded promotions, sponsored content, or joint events. I intend to orchestrate strategic collaborations between brands to achieve mutual marketing goals. 
 
I am also excited to announce that I'll be attending my inaugural networking event, Rakuten Advertising Dealmaker, in March. This presents an excellent opportunity to connect with our current partners and forge potential future collaborations. Moreover, I'll be participating in various seminars during the event, aiming to glean valuable insights to enhance my effectiveness in my role. 
 
In addition to my responsibilities, I'll be actively involved in affiliate marketing, where I'll collaborate closely with our partners to foster and nurture relationships within our affiliate network. I look forward to contributing to the launch of new brands, playing a pivotal role in their growth journey right from the outset.
